APJ Abdul Kalam Essay
Abdul Kalam was a great scientist and visionary leader who served as the 11th president of India. He was a wise and motivating man. In Rameswaram, he was born into a low-income family. He worked hard to pursue his education with great determination. He is also known as the missile man of India for his contribution to developing missiles and nuclear tests.
Abdul Kalam was not only a scientist but also a teacher, a writer, and a humanitarian. “If you want to shine like a sun, first burst like a sun” is one of the famous quotes he said to inspire youth towards hard work. He wrote many books such as Wings of Fire, India in 2020, Ignited Minds, Transcendence, etc. which reflected his thoughts on science, technology, spirituality, and leadership.
Abdul Kalam was a simple person who followed his father’s principles and values to the path of righteousness. He respected all religions and faiths. He was fond of music, poetry, and literature.
He became the President of India in 2002. Being a President, he upheld the dignity and integrity of the office of the President and acted as a unifying force in the country. He interacted with millions of people, students, and children and inspired them through his vision.
“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep” This quote by Dr. Kalam is one of the best quotes which gives me inspiration to follow and to work hard towards my goal. He shared his life story and vision of India with the youth through his books, speeches, and interaction sessions.
He received many awards and honors including the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, and many more for his incredible work throughout his life. He was a man with values of humility, integrity, curiosity, and spirituality. He promoted harmony and peace for the betterment of the nation. He also promoted science and technology and supported development projects in the fields of biotechnology, nanotechnology, agriculture, and medicine.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam died on July 27, 2015, while delivering lecture in the Indian Institute of management in Shillong. The entire country lamented his passing. He left being a legacy of excellence integrity and patriotism that will always inspire the upcoming generation. His thoughts, vision, and work will always be remarkable things in the history of India
